Quality Ratio for Players
A Player’s Quality Ratio is used to calculate the percentage of cards that were accurately submitted for a Trade-In through the TCGplayer Buylist. Players must send in the cards that match the Card Name, Set, Condition and Quantity outlined in their Buylist Offer Summary. The percentage of cards submitted that match this criteria account for the Player’s Quality Ratio. Cards received that are different than the cards described on the Buylist Offer Summary are considered discrepancies.
Terms You Need to Know
Quality Ratio - the percentage of cards that were accurately submitted for a Trade-In
Expected Cards - cards that match the Card Name, Set, Condition and Quantity outlined in a Player’s Buylist Offer Summary (the total number of cards that are expected to be delivered with the Trade-In that meet the agreed upon criteria)
Validated Cards - the total quantity of all cards accepted, including cards that were received as expected per the Buylist Offer Summary and also any cards accepted with a condition discrepancy
Validated Value - the total dollar value of the Validated cards for your Trade-In
Return Shipping - the amount charged to ship any rejected cards back to the Player (Note: Additional information on returning shipments and the associated fees can be found here.)
Total Payment - the Validated Value of cards minus the return shipping cost equals the total payment sent to the Player
Discrepancies - cards received that are different than the expected cards described on the Buylist Offer Summary (Note: If the correct card is sent in but the condition does not match the expected condition, the card is considered a discrepancy.)
Returned Cards - the quantity of cards returned to the Player
Return Tracking - the tracking number for the returned cards shipment
How We Determine the Quality Ratio
To determine the Quality Ratio, we need to identify the total number of expected cards for the Trade-In, as well as the number of discrepancies that were not accepted.
A Player’s Quality Ratio is calculated by taking the Expected Cards (the initial expected total of cards) and subtracting the total number of Discrepancies (wrong condition/card or missing cards), then dividing this number by the Expected Cards.
(Expected Cards - Discrepancies) / Expected Cards
Example: (35 Expected Cards - 13 Discrepancies) / 35 Expected Cards = 62.86% Quality Ratio
If a Player submits several Trade-Ins, the Quality Ratio will reflect the accuracy percentage of all orders together.
Example:
Order 1: 35 Expected Cards, 13 Discrepancies
Order 2: 83 Expected Cards, 44 Discrepancies
35 + 83 = 118 Expected Cards (total)
13 + 44 = 57 Discrepancies (total)
118 Expected Cards - 57 Discrepancies = 61 accurate cards
61 / 118 = 51.69% Quality Ratio (overall)
