TCGplayer Fees

When selling with TCGplayer, commission fees are applied to your transaction based on where the sale took place and which programs you are a part of. Fees are charged based on the order subtotal. The Marketplace Commission Fee and Pro Fee total is capped at $50 per product sold. Example: An order that contains 2 $1000 cards would have a total Marketplace Commission Fees and Pro Fees of $100, $50 for each card.

Fee Definitions:

Marketplace Commission Fee - A fee sellers pay for making a sale as part of the TCGplayer marketplace.
Pro Fee - A commission fee paid on sales for the use of Pro Tools.
Direct Shipping Replacement Cost (SRC) - A fee sellers pay on Direct orders only. The Direct SRC is a calculated fee based on the card count and value of the customer order that factors in the estimated postage, estimated expenses for packaging supplies, and estimated labor for handling the order including customer service for any after transaction interactions.
Sync Fee - A fee on sales for sellers utilizing a third-party eCommerce platform like Crystal Commerce, BinderPOS, or Ion Sync. These fees are determined by the sync provider.
Transaction Fee - A fixed per transaction fee charged on each sale. A transaction is defined as any number of items purchased by the same buyer from the same seller at checkout using the same shipping method.

All International (Non-US) sellers paid through PayPal are charged a 2% payment processing fee, capped at $20. Unlike the other payout methods, the PayPal fee is taken as an adjustment.

Bankers Rounding

TCGplayer uses Bankers Rounding for calculating fees:

Bankers Rounding is an algorithm for rounding quantities to integers, in which numbers which are equidistant from the two nearest integers are rounded to the nearest even integer.

With standard rounding, you round up or down to the nearest number. For amounts that end in 5, you would round up. This tends to skew towards a higher amount. Bankers’ rounding is closer to the actual amount than with standard rounding.
