Getting Started

Under the Miscellaneous Settings, your store will find further levels for customization of your store's Point of Sale. This article will focus on briefly explaining and listing how to use and adjust these features. These settings can be divided into two sections: General Misc Settings and Extra POS Payment Methods.

 

Finding the Misc Settings

In order to begin customizing the Misc Settings, you must first know where to find them. In order to find these settings, follow these steps:

  1. From your BinderPOS Portal, select POS Settings > Misc Settings

 

 

General Misc Settings

Within these general settings, there are four categories for customization through the use of check boxes. These are:

  • Expire Cart
  • Create New Cart Upon Entry
  • Use Split Checkout
  • Check Scanned Item Inventory

Expire Cart

The first section for customization is Expire Unsaved Cart and Return Stock After 1 Hour. This section includes a check box that either enables or disables this feature. Put simply, this allows for any cart that was used to expire after 1 hour without completing the purchase. This is true, unless the cart has been saved. If this option is disabled, then carts will stay open and hold stock indefinitely (or until removed from the cart).

 

Create New Cart Upon Entry

The second section for customization is Create a New Cart when Entering the POS. This section includes a check box that either enables or disables this feature. This function opens and creates a new cart each and every time that the POS is opened. If this is not desired, disabling the feature will keep the most recent cart upon, even when reentering the POS.

 

Use Split Checkout

The third section for customization is Use Split Checkout. This feature is still in the Beta phase of development. If this feature is enabled, then it will allow for payments of the same tender type to be used with a checkout. This means that split checkout can be used with two credit cards, but not one credit card and cash.

 

Check Scanned Item Inventory

The fourth and final section for customization is Check Inventory of Scanned Items. This section includes a check box allowing for the ability to review and display the available stock of the items being scanned. For example, if an MTG single is scanned into a cart, the POS will display that single and the number of those singles available in stock currently.

 

Extra POS Payment Methods

This section allows for alternative methods of payment to be added to your store's POS. This is an incredibly simple action. In order to begin adding secondary payments to your POS, follow these steps:

  1. From your POS Misc Settings, scroll to the Extra POS Payment Methods section
  2. Under New Payment Method Name, select ( )
  3. Select the payment being added
  4. Select Save Changes
Please note that these changes will not be applied to any open Tills. Please close and reopen Tills (or close Tills before making changes) to see new payment methods
