Getting Started

 

Processing payments is a basic and fundamental part of running product through your store and your POS. There are a few useful features to become familiar with when concerning completing a customer's order. Two of the most important are Processing Payments and Processing Multiple Payment Methods. You will notice that there are multiple different methods available for use when paying for and completing an order. These are: Cash, Credit, EFTPOS, and Store Credit. The following chart briefly explains each of these types:

 

Payment Type: Explanation:
Cash This payment type includes cash and coins. Paper bills and physical currency fall under this category
Credit (Card) This payment type includes payment through the use of a card, whether credit or debit card
EFTPOS EFTPOS stands for Electronic Funds Transferred at Point of Sale and is a specific system for charging credit or debit cards. This system is only used in certain areas
Store Credit Store Credit is the system of payment which relies on accumulated in-store funds acquired by a customer on their personal store account. Generally, this payment type has no value outside of the store

Processing Payments

In order to begin completing an order, learning how to process payments through a singular method is important. This process is explained below:

  1. From your BinderPOS page, select POS Settings
  2. From POS Settings, open your store's Point of Sale
  3. From your store's Point of Sale, complete your customer's order
  4. Select Pay
  5. Select the Payment Method, such as Cash, Credit Card, or Store Credit
  6. Complete your order

 

Processing Payments with Multiple Methods

One convenient tool to utilize in your POS is the ability to spread an order's payment over several payment methods. This is an especially useful feature if a customer wishes to utilize multiple methods of payments, for example: store credit, cash, card, etc. . In order to begin spreading payments across multiple platforms, follow these steps:

  1. From your BinderPOS page, select POS Settings
  2. From POS Settings, open your store's Point of Sale
  3. From your store's Point of Sale, complete your customer's order
  4. Select Pay
  5. Select the Payment Method, such as Cash, Credit Card, or Store Credit
  6. Input the desired about to be paid with the selected payment method
  7. Select Continue
  8. Select Add Payment and repeat steps 5 and 6 with the secondary payment method
  9. Complete your order
