TABLE OF CONTENTS

Introduction

Every month your store will be charged a commission for using and working with/through BinderPOS. Your monthly invoice gives details on how you are charged. This page will delve into the specifics and mechanics of how monthly fees are divided. For more information on understanding and translating your monthly invoice, head to How to Read and Understand Your Invoice.

Commissions are calculated after the month-end, and invoiced in the subsequent month. For example: January's commissions are calculated in February and invoiced in March

In the simplest terms possible, your commission is a fee taken from a small percentage of sales that your store makes only through its online portals. Below you will find these divisions explained.

How You Are Charged

Shopify

Your Shopify commission is 2% of your total Online Sales + In-Store Credit. Sometimes you will notice a discrepancy between your Shopify monthly sales and the 2% commission on your monthly invoice. These discrepancies tend to arise from the difference in how your invoices are created and how Shopify reports your monthly sales. Sales often take a few days to finalize and may carry over into the next month; because you are only charged a fee for your finalized sales, you may notice that you are being charged a percentage that is slightly off of 2%. Please know that this should correct itself by the following billing cycle.

Online Sales

On your invoice, your Shopify sales will be listed under Ecommerce Commission. Any sales you make through your online Shopify portal (your store's website) will be subject to a 2% commission. This is only true for sales made online. This does not include any sales made within a brick and mortar store. Any sales made within your physical store(s) are not subject to any commission charges.

Each month, your store will only see fees for finalized online sales. This means that if a refund has been issued or if a sale made at the end of the month finalizes at the beginning of the next month, there may be small discrepancies between what you can see on your Shopify monthly sales and what you will see on your monthly invoice. These discrepancies should balance out within the next month, but if there is ever anything that stands out as odd on your monthly invoice, please do no hesitate to reach out to us

In-Store Credit

In-store credit, when issued online, will also makeup part of your monthly sales number in your Shopify monthly report. Because of this, it is also subject to a 2% commission.

Like with your finalized sales, if there are any discrepancies due to refunds or issuing in-store credit, this will most likely be resolved in the following month

Finding Shopify's Monthly Sales Report

If you are unsure of how to check to see how much you are selling in a given month, the following steps should help you:

  1. Login to your MyShopify page
  2. Click Analytics > Dashboard
  3. Find the filter under Overview Dashboard and filter by the month you wish to view
  4. Under Total Sales, you will find Online Store
  5. Check your online sales for that month and take 2% to find, roughly, your monthly Shopify commission

eBay

Your eBay commission is 2% of your total Online Sales. Sometimes you will notice a discrepancy between your eBay monthly sales and the 2% commission on your monthly invoice. These discrepancies tend to arise from the difference in how your invoices are created and how eBay reports your monthly sales. Sales often take a few days to finalize and may carry over into the next month; because you are only charged a fee for your finalized sales, you may notice that you are being charged a percentage that is slightly off of 2%. Please know that this should correct itself by the following billing cycle.

Online Sales

On your invoice, your eBay sales will be listed under eBay Commission. Any sales you make through your eBay page will be subject to a 2% commission.

Each month, your store will only see fees for finalized online sales. This means that if a refund has been issued or if a sale made at the end of the month finalizes at the beginning of the next month, there may be small discrepancies between what you can see on your eBay monthly sales and what you will see on your monthly invoice. These discrepancies should balance out within the next month, but if there is ever anything that stands out as odd on your monthly invoice, please do no hesitate to reach out to us

Other Fees

It is important to note that eBay will charge additional fees aside from the standard commission. These are:

  • Insertion fee of $0.35 per listing
  • Final Value Fee of 13.25% (up to $7500) + an additional 2.35% (15.60% if the price goes over $7500, but specifically for TCG/CCG listings)

TCGplayer

Your TCGplayer commission varies. The variance in commission costs are wholly dependent upon the store type and any additional programs that are being participated in. It is important to note, however, that these fees are capped at $50 per product sold. For example, if there were an order placed that contained 2 $1000 cards, the store would pay a total (commission and potential additional fees) of $100, $50 for each card.

While TCGplayer does not include taxes in the overall payment that commissions are charged from (whether cash or debit card), other parties, such as credit card companies or PayPal, do include taxes when determining fees. Therefore, this amount is used by TCGplayer to cover the added processing costs incurred by including these parties.

To clarify:
Cash or Debit Card commission fees will be taken from the order's subtotal (item amount + shipping costs)

Credit Card commission fees will be taken from the overall total (item amount + shipping costs + taxes)
