Pack Creator

Feature Overview

The Roca Pack Creator is designed to take relatively low value bulk cards and create repackaged packs or lots for resale. Pack Creator does this through two different sorts which are intended to take in a batch of unsorted cards and sort them into bulk repacks or bulk lots. The Bulk Lot Creator will take in a lot size and create lots of the specified user size, all rares will be evenly distributed between the total number of lots created. The Repack sort will take in both a pack size as well as a desired number of rares per pack as user options. In both cases, the machine will scan all the cards in, and recompile them, leftover cards that are not enough to create a new pack will be moved to the rejections bin at the end.

User Guide

The Pack creator is a fairly simple tool to use, but there are a few caveats, we recommend using unsorted cards, due to the nature of pack creator creating packs without duplicates, having too many duplicates in a row can create additional moves, which will increase the sort time. Additionally lands are currently treated the same as any other card meaning there can be multiple per pack, we recommend sifting lands out first and then they can easily be added as many per pack as you wish.

For recompiling the machine will attempt to place roca divider cards in between each pack/lot. If you do not have Roca Divider cards, it will ignore this step and recompile normally, at which point you can identify where lots begin based on the Rares.

An example of a Roca divider card

In order to run Pack/Lot Creator, cards simply need to be inserted into the input bins as normal and then the desired pack/lot size, and if running pack creator, the number of rares, should be entered into the input field on the Roca GUI. Divider cards should be inserted into the input bins along with the cards to sort.

In this example, three packs are created and separated by divider cards, with any extra or rejected cards being moved to the rejection bin

User Interface

The user interface is similar to the rest of the sorts on the Roca. The Repack and Bulk lots both have a card on the user interface, and simply ask for fields to ascertain the lot size and how many rares should be in each pack. Bulk Lot divides the rares evenly between the lots and therefore only has one field.

Additional Tips

  • To create theme boosters, consider running a Roca Color Sort, to break bulk lots into colors and then run the color sorted (but not alphabetical ideally) output through a repack to create booster packs of a single color.
  • Be sure to load enough Rares/Mythics into the sorter before running, as when the machine runs out of cards to create packs, it will reject the remainder. If you run a full tray and only put 1 rare in, it will potentially run out of cards after only making a single pack. (unless you specify 0 rares per pack)
