Getting Started

The Collection Page lists all of the available products from a collection and is easily customizable through this settings page. In order to begin customizing the settings for a collection, please be aware that they must have already been created. For more information, check out How to Add and Manage Collections.

When customizing the Collection Page, you will notice that you can edit both the Collection Page settings and the settings for Filter by Product Type sections. The Collection Page settings deal specifically with customizing the settings and features for each individual page specific to each individual collection. The Filter by Product Type sections deal exclusively with customizing how collection pages are filtered through searches.

Finding the Collection Page

In order to find the customization screen for and adjust your Collection Pages, please follow these steps:

1. From your myShopify homepage, go to Online Store > Themes
2. Find and click Customize
3. Find the drop-down menu at the top center of your screen labeled Home Page
4. Drop down and select Collections > Default Collection
5. On the customization panel on the left side of the screen, find and select Collection Page

Customizing the Collection Page

Once you have found and opened the Collection Page customization menu, you will notice several general areas for customization. Please find them below:

• Tags to Exclude
• Results per Page
• Show Out of Stock Variants

Tags to Exclude

This section features a text box allowing for the input of excluded tags. You can easily utilize this text box to excluded products holding specific tags that you may not want customers to view with this specific collection.

When inputting excluded tags, remember to use commas to separate values/tags. For example: don't, show, this

Results per Page

This section includes a drop-down menu allowing for the selection of how many of the collection's products will be visible per page. You will have the option to show 8, 16, 24, or 32 products per page.

Show Out of Stock Variants

This section includes a check box allowing for out of stock products to be visible, depending on whether or not this check box is selected.

Finding the Filter by Product Type Section

In order to find the customization screen for and adjust your Filter by Product Type Sections, please follow these steps:

1. From your myShopify homepage, go to Online Store > Themes
2. Find and click Customize
3. Find the drop-down menu at the top center of your screen labeled Home Page
4. Drop down and select Collections > Default Collection
5. On the customization panel on the left side of the screen, find and select the drop-down arrow next to Collection Page
6. Select Add Filter by Product Type
7. Select Filter by Product Type

Customizing the Filter by Product Type Section

Once you have found and opened the Filter by Product Type customization menu, you will notice several general areas for customization. Please find them below:

• Product Type
• Filter Prefixes

Product Type

This section features a text box dedicated to inputting the product type for which filters can be made. Types might include: Board Game, MTG, Pokémon, etc.

Filter Prefixes

These next three sections focus on specific prefixes present within the above Product Type. These Filter Prefixes correlate directly to specific tags given when products in this collection were originally created. Prefixes might include: Players for Players: 2 Player, Playtime for Playtime: 60 mins, etc.
