Getting Started

Collection lists are a great tool for displaying a large number of pre-made collections. Whether these collections are centered around specific themes, games, or events, collections are a great tool for grouping specific products into one place. For more information on creating collections, check out How to Add and Manage Collections

Finding Collection Lists

In order to find the customization screen for your store's webpage, and in order to adjust your Collection Lists, please follow these steps:

1. From your myShopify homepage, go to Online Store > Themes
2. Find and click Customize
3. You will see the customization menu on the left of your screen. Click Collection Lists
4. If you do not see Collection Lists, scroll to the bottom of the customization menu and select Add section
5. From here, find and select Collection Lists to add the block to your page

Customizing Collection Lists

Once you have found your Collection Lists block, you will notice several areas for customization. These are:

• Heading
• Link Title
• Link
• Round Images
• Show Collection Title

Heading

This section includes a text box allowing for the customization of a content heading. This heading will be positioned to the left and above the collections being displayed in the block. For the Heading, we recommend something attention grabbing and catchy to capture the eye of customers.

Link Title

This section includes a text box allowing for the customization of the message that will appear on your block's content Link. This Link Title will appear on the top right of your block, opposite the Heading.

Link

This section includes a text box that allows for your store to connect a link to the above Link Title. You can utilize this text box to insert either a direct link through a URL or by selecting the text box and searching through collections. It will appear something like this:

Round Images

This section includes a tick box allowing for the displayed collection images to appear either rounded or squared. We recommend playing around with these features to find the look that best fits your store's site.

Show Collection Title

This section includes a tick box allowing for the display of the displayed collections' titles below their displayed images.

Finding Collections

In order to find the customization screen for your store's webpage, and in order to adjust your Collection Lists, please follow these steps:

1. From your myShopify homepage, go to Online Store > Themes
2. Find and click Customize
3. You will see the customization menu on the left of your screen. Click the down arrow to the side of Collection Lists
4. If you do not see Collection Lists, scroll to the bottom of the customization menu and select Add section
5. From here, find and select Collection Lists to add the block to your page
6. Below Collection Lists, select Collection

Customizing Collections

Once you have found your Collection block, you will notice several areas for customization. These are:

• Collection
• Image
• Link

Collection

This section includes a drop-down menu allowing for a collection, one made prior to this customization, to be linked to this Collection Lists section. Once you click Select Collection, you will see something like this:

In order to add a new image to your block, click Select Image. From here you can upload or select the image your store wishes to display alongside your collection. Please note that the recommended image size is beneath this section. It will look something like this: 

If your image doesn't meet these specifications, it will not properly fit.

The recommended image size is calculated as the optimal size across many possible screen sizes (PC monitors of differing sizes, Mac, mobile, tablet, etc.)

After you have chosen your image, you will notice another customization option become available: Add alt text.

Adding alt text is a good way for your to include addition descriptions that will appear just beneath your icon. You can add up to 255 characters to this alt text feature

This section includes a text box that allows for your store to connect a link to the above Collection. You can utilize this text box to insert either a direct link through a URL or by selecting the text box and searching through collections. It will appear something like this:
