How to Add to and Edit the Banner Block

About the Banner Block
The banner block is a section of your website dedicated to included banners, or images, that you can use for various purposes. Some reasons to use a banner may be:
- Upcoming releases
- Events
- Products
- Sales
Utilizing a banner is a good way to visually attract your customer to a product or event in your store.
Each Banner Block only supports adding two banners. If you wish to include more than two, you will need to select Add section and add another Banner Block
Organizing the Banner Block
Finding and Editing the Banner Block
In order to find the customization screen for your store's webpage, and in order to organize your banners, please follow these steps:
- From your myShopify homepage, go to Online Store > Themes
- Find and click Customize
- You will see the customization menu on the left of your screen. Click on Banner Block
- If you do not see Banner Block, scroll to the bottom of the customization menu and select Add section
- From here, find and select Banner Block to add the section to your page
Adding Banners
Each Banner Block allows for only two banners to be added. You will notice that both Banner-1 and Banner-2 have five sections of customizability:
- Image
- Scale Banner
- Hover
- Hover Color
- Link
Image
The image that you choose will become the foundation for the banner. Choosing an attractive and interesting image is recommended. Take note of the recommended image size given; this recommendation is the ideal image size for viewing across all potential devices. If your image is too big or too small, its appearance will be affected. This recommendation will look something like this:
Scale Banner
This is a box that allows you to toggle On/Off an automatic scaling function for your banners. It may not adjust your image much, but its purpose is to help improve any issues with appearances your banners may have. It is recommended that you play around with this feature; remember that banner appearance may differ based on the device you are viewing your webpage from.
Hover & Hover Color
This customizable feature deals with how the banner(s) will react when a mouse hovers over them. Hover deals specifically with any kind of effect, such as flipping or spinning. Hover Color is whether the banner will lighten or darken when your mouse hovers over it. It is recommended that your shop experiment with these tools and choose what best suits your store and store culture.
Link
When not defending Hyrule or saving the Princess, the purpose of your Link is to allow for the customer to quickly view a webpage focused on the subject matter that the banner is advertising. When adding a link to your banner, you can input the text address for the website or simply select the collection or webpage that drops down from the text box. That will look something like this:
