Getting Started
Some stores have noted issues with a product's Add to Cart button being listed as Pre-Order due to unknown circumstances. This article will aim to explain how different Tags can cause products to be labelled and appear differently.

Product Status Overview
When a product meets specific conditions, tags related to those conditions will appear on the products page. Some examples of this can be seen in the Add to Cart button being replaced with Pre-order or some other option. The possible status options are as follows:
- Sold Out
- Pre-order
- Back Order
Sold Out
A product will be marked as Sold Out if it meets the following criteria:
- The product has an inventory quantity of 0
- The product has Track Quantity marked on its product page
- The product has Continue Selling When Out of Stock is unchecked on its product page
Pre-order
A product will be marked as Pre-order if it meets the following criteria:
- The product has an order quantity of greater than 0
- The product has Track Quantity marked on its product page
- The product has Continue Selling When Out of Stock is unchecked on its product page

The product is in collection whose title contains “pre-order” or “preorder”
or
-
The product has a tag of “preorder” (recommended)
A Pre-order becomes sold out when it’s inventory quantity equals 0
Backorder
A product will be marked as Backorder if it meets the following criteria:
- The product has an order quantity of less than or equal to 0
- The product has Track Quantity marked on its product page
- The product has Continue Selling When Out of Stock is marked on its product page
- The product is not of the type Event Ticket
