Freight Forwarding Hub
As TCGplayer extends into new global markets, we are looking at ways to reduce risks for buyers and sellers to transact internationally. As we expand, adjustments to policies may occur and will be reflected here.
Making your listings available internationally is easy and can help you grow your business by reaching buyers worldwide. When you offer international shipping in your listings, your items are automatically available to buyers outside the United States.
Seller FAQ
Given the nature of TCGplayer’s growing global marketplace, your listings may be viewed and purchased by, and shipped to, buyers around the world. Sellers and buyers are responsible for complying with all laws and regulations applicable to the international sale, purchase, and shipment of items.
-
What if the buyer hasn’t received their order?
- Buyer disputes for missing packages that are signed for by a freight forwarder or an agent of the buyer (e.g. receptionist, family member) will be denied. If our investigation determines that the customer did not receive the order due to a shipping error beyond their control, the seller may still be held liable. Note, however, that this is an extremely rare occurrence.
-
What am I held liable for as a seller?
- You are required to deliver purchased items to the address provided in the order details. If a buyer needs to update their shipping address, they are required to contact you as quickly as possible after the order is placed. If a buyer uses a freight forwarding service, delivery of the package is only covered to the address provided on the order.
-
What about customs fees/forms?
- Generally, buyers pay any additional costs associated with international purchases, such as duties, taxes, and customs clearance fees.
"International buyers – please note: Import duties, taxes, and charges aren't included in the item price or postage cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.
"Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be, prior to buying."
Also note:
- It's illegal to falsify customs declarations or mark an item as a "gift" in order to avoid customs fees. If a buyer asks you to commit customs fraud, report it to us.
- To follow US export regulations and prevent your package from being held for inspection, you must complete customs forms and possibly file an export license for items that sold for more than $2,500
- Customs regulations vary by country and not all carriers ship to all locations
Buyer FAQ
You'll find items from all over the world on TCGplayer. International sellers can send items to you through regular shipping services.
When purchasing from an international seller, keep in mind that shipping can sometimes take longer and cost more than buying from a seller in your own country.
-
What are my protections as a buyer when using freight forwarding?
- Please be aware that if you are utilizing a mail forwarding address your order is not covered by the same level of Buyer Protection as an order that ships from the US to your actual international location.
- TCGplayer is not responsible for damage, condition issues, or loss that occurs to goods after they're delivered to you or your freight forwarder. What this means for you as a customer is that TCGplayer isn't able to provide a replacement of (or refund for) any goods confirmed as delivered by the USPS via tracking to you or your freight forwarder by the shipping provider. If you experience any post-delivery issues, please contact your freight forwarding provider.
-
What about Customs and import charges?
- As a buyer, it's your responsibility to check which customs and import charges may apply, and to pay them. These import charges are generally based on the item's price, weight, dimensions, and country of origin, as well as any taxes, duties, and fees added by your country. Your seller might be able to give you some information about import charges, but before you buy an item, it's a good idea to check with your country's customs office for more specific details.
