3/14/25 | Conditioning Release Notes | Yu-Gi-Oh! & Magic: the Gathering | Dueling Mirrors & Aetherdrift Printing Defects

Conditioning Release Notes are designed to keep you informed about the latest updates on how specific imperfections and defects are handled in the conditioning process for the TCGplayer Direct program. This Release note provides an update on Yu-Gi-Oh’s Dueling Mirrors Set, Magic: The Gathering’s Aetherdrift set, and our Conditioning Guide Help File.

Dueling Mirrors Printing Defect

Printing defects have been identified in the Yu-Gi-Oh! set Dueling Mirrors. This defect affects Prismatic Rares, causing them to look like Secret Rares.

As a result of this defect, TCGplayer will be removing cards with this defect from our inventory.

Aetherdrift Printing Defect

Printing defects have been identified on the back of the Common card “Ride’s End” from the Magic: The Gathering set, Aetherdrift. This defect appears in the upper left quadrant on the back of the card and varies in size.

We are aware of this defect, but will not make any changes to inventory at this time due to the infrequency and relatively low impact of this defect.

Conditioning Guide Update

We have updated our Card Conditioning Guide Help File. These updates include:

  • Added information around handling defected and altered cards.
  • Revised print language section with relevant information and examples.

For more information, check out our Card Conditioning Guide Help File.
