Tips for Listings with Photos

Whether you’re using the TCGplayer App or your Seller Portal to create your listing, you can follow these best practices to stand out on TCGplayer.com.

Photos

Include up to five photos with your listing: a main image and four additional images. Be sure to choose photos that clearly show the condition of your product and any unique features.

  • Main Image (1) - The main photo will appear in product listings and search results. Choose the photo that will best display the product you're selling and grab the attention of potential buyers.
  • Additional Images (4) - Be sure to include a photo of the front, back, edges, defects and any unique markings. The more detailed your photos are, the more comfortable buyers will be that they're getting the product they want.

Note: Photos must be in .jpg format (and variants of this extension). They should be no smaller than 750px wide and no larger than 15mb. Be sure to upload the highest quality images possible so potential buyers can zoom in and really check out your product.

Note: Photos with inappropriate images are not allowed and may be removed from the website or censored if a buyer reports them.

Custom Title

In addition to adding up to five photos, you'll also need to add a custom title for your listing. This is a great opportunity to show what makes your product unique. The custom title field has a 255-character limit, so use your space wisely.

Use keywords to make it easy for customers to find your listing. For example, if you're selling a signed copy of a card, you'll want to use words like "signed" or "autographed" in your custom title, as well as the name of the person who signed it. If you're selling a graded card, you can add things like the condition and rarity. If you're selling an altered card, add the name of the artist. If you’re selling a card printed in a non-English language, be sure to include the language in the title of the listing as well! The card language must be clearly communicated in the listing title and description using the full name of the language (examples: Japanese instead of JPN, Italian instead of ITA, etc).

Note: Offensive language will be filtered out. If you attempt to submit an offensive word, you'll see an error message and the listing will not be saved.

Price

Choose a price that fits the value of your unique card. To help you, we display price data for standard (non-photo) listings of your card when you create a listing with photos. This data can be a helpful benchmark for pricing your card, but remember that your card’s value could be much higher if it has unique features like an autograph or a printing error.

You’ll see different price data depending on how you create your listing.

If you use the TCGplayer App to create your listing, you’ll see the current TCG Market Price for standard listings of your card.

If you use the Inventory or Pricing tabs in the Seller Portal, you’ll see the following price data for standard listings of your card:

  • TCG Market Price - Estimated value of an item based on recent sales history
  • TCG Lowest Listing - Lowest price currently listed for the item on the Marketplace
  • TCG Marketplace Price - Price you’ve set for other copies of the item on TCGplayer.com

If you’re a Pro seller with separate prices online and in-store, you’ll also see:

  • My Store Price - Your in-store price for other copies of the item

Description

Use the description field to add more information about your product. Descriptions are required when creating a Listing with Photos. Remember to use keywords like the card’s set, artist and condition to help customers find your listing. Descriptions are limited to 5,000 characters max.

Listings with Photos must include a listing description that explains specifically what type of products are being offered including, but not limited to:

  • the name of the product
  • the set
  • the condition
  • the number of products offered in the listing (especially important in bulk lots)
  • the product language in full (for listing non-English cards, ex: Japanese not JPN, Italian not ITA)
  • notes about damage or modifications to the product (signatures, etc)
  • notes about additional products included in the listing (for example: supplies like sleeves or dice added onto the primary product listing)

Note: Offensive language will be filtered out. If you attempt to submit an offensive word, the listing will not be saved.
