Managed Inventory

Packing & Shipping Guide

Use this guide after you have uploaded your submission CSV and generated your packing slip. Following these steps will help your shipment arrive with the right information, avoid delays, and make it easier for TCGplayer to process your inventory.

Steps

Before shipping your Managed Inventory submission:

  • Print the packing slip generated after you upload your CSV.
  • Review the packing slip and remove any cards that are not listed; ineligible cards are subject to postage fees for return.
  • Sort your cards according to the package packing slip.
  • Package your cards securely using the packaging best practices.
  • Confirm that the package type, mailing address and package ID are correct.
  • Make sure the package ID and barcode are placed inside of your package.
  • Create your shipping label and mail each shipment separately with unique tracking.
  • Add the carrier and tracking information in Seller Portal.

Print Your Packing Slip

After you successfully upload your CSV, go to the ‘Review and Ship’ page and print the packing slip for that package. Before printing, confirm that the package type, package ID, barcode, and mailing address look correct.

For information on how to upload your submission, please refer to the Submission guide.

Organize Your Cards

Use the packing slip to review the expected sort order for your package and organize your cards accordingly. Only include cards that appear on the packing slip. Be sure to remove any extra or ineligible products to avoid discrepancy fees.

A Note About Product Order:

Unlike Direct RI, TCGplayer Managed Inventory does not require sets and cards within sets to be in one fixed, standard order. Your package should be grouped by:

  • By product line (game) – Magic, then Pokemon, then Yu-Gi-Oh!.
  • By condition – Near Mint first, then Lightly Played
  • By Non-Foil, then Foil.
  • Cards with the same ID (name and version) within a given set

If the packing slip changes the product order in a way that does not match these grouping rules, please contact your dedicated support agent so we can investigate.

For an example CSV following these guidelines, please refer here.

Package Your Shipment

Pack your sorted package according to the packing requirements as described in the TCGplayer Managed Inventory Seller Agreement. Before sealing your package, be sure to:

  • Check that your cards match the packing slip.
  • Include the package ID and barcode on the inside of the package.
  • Secure the cards so they are not loose, able to slide, or otherwise prone to moving around within the package.
  • Use properly sized packaging and boxes to reduce potential movement within the package and reduce risk of external damage.
  • If you are using multiple boxes within the package, number them accordingly (e.g. “1 of 5”, “2 of 5”, so on)
  • Only sleeve and/or topload cards valued at $25 or greater.
  • Do not use rubber bands, string, or similar strand-like material to secure cards, as these are likely to cause damage.
  • Do not send products and/or packages smelling of smoke or other substances.
  • Do not package products with anything besides standard packing materials (packing peanuts, foam, bubblewrap, etc.)
  • Do not use additional cards as packing material, as these will be recorded as discrepancies and subject to discrepancy fees.

For additional best practices on packaging your shipment, see TCGplayer’s Shipping Guidelines article.

Label Your Shipment

Be sure to include the portion of the packing slip that includes the package ID and barcode inside of your package. Make sure both the barcode and package ID are clearly visible and scannable. This helps TCGplayer match your physical package to the correct Managed Inventory shipment during intake.

Ship and Add Tracking

  • Ship your package with tracking as soon as possible to the address shown on the packing slip.
  • Before mailing, confirm that the address matches the package type:

Preferred (PRF) Packages should be addressed to:

TCGplayer Managed Inventory - PRF
4500 Commerce Crossings Dr
Louisville, KY 40229

Standard (STD) Packages should be addressed to:

TCGplayer Managed Inventory - STD
4500 Commerce Crossings Dr
Louisville, KY 40229

  • Each shipment must be packed and mailed separately with unique tracking.
  • After you create the shipping label, add the carrier and tracking information for the shipment in Seller Portal.

Note: Tracking cannot be changed in the Seller Portal after it has been applied. If you need to update the tracking information, reach out to your dedicated support agent as soon as possible.
