Getting started

Sellers are responsible for the arrival of international shipments. You can ship internationally using USPS or other transit companies. For the most up-to-date information on international shipping suspensions, please visit the USPS Service Alerts page.

Once you have opted in to international shipping, you will need to set your shipping settings. Like with your domestic shipping settings, access your international shipping options by clicking the Shipping Settings button within the My Details tab.

On the Shipping Settings page, the list of countries you are able to ship to are within the Shipping Options section. For each country you would like to ship to, click on “Add” in the far right column to access package shipping costs.

Set the prices you would like to charge for each package size and click save. Once you have saved, you’ll be returned to the Shipping Settings page.

In the far-right column of the Shipping Options section, you’ll see that you now have the option to “Set as Active” or “Edit Shipping”. Click on “Set as Active” to enable shipping to that country.

When you’re setting international shipping rates, it can be helpful to look at other sellers’ shipping rates. That way you can get a baseline or benchmark to compare and evaluate your own rates. You can easily review these rates using filters on TCGplayer.com.

To begin, visit a product page, like this one for Noble Hierarch (Modern Masters 2015). Scroll to the bottom of the left-hand sidebar and find the filter labeled “Shipping Country.”

Select “Edit,” then choose another country to view products and shipping rates as if you were a buyer in that location:

(Note: Canada, the UK, Australia and Japan are our top international destinations, with Canada being number one.)

When you’re done comparing shipping rates, remember to switch back to your home country.

International Shipping Policies

Delivery Expectations

When your order is shipped, an estimated delivery date will be provided in your order history. If your package does not arrive by the estimated delivery date, please message the Seller via your Order History and let them know that the order has been lost in transit.  Read more about Missing Package Dispute Resolution for International orders in our linked Help File.

Alternative Options

If you have a friend or family member who lives in the United States, you are welcome to place an order with a Domestically funded credit card (or via PayPal) and have the order shipped to them. Please keep in mind that your billing information must match what your bank has on file for your account, or your order cannot be accepted.  The credit card account you utilize must be tied to a Domestic account if you are shipping to a US address.  Due to Security Measures Buyers cannot ship within the United States when utilizing an International Payment Method.

Freight and Mail Forwarders

Please be aware that if you are utilizing a mail forwarding address your order is not covered by the same level of Buyer Protection as an order that ships from the US to your actual international location.

  • TCGplayer is not responsible for damage, condition issues, or loss that occurs to goods after they're delivered to you or your freight forwarder. What this means for you as a customer is that TCGplayer isn't able to provide a replacement of (or refund for) any goods confirmed as delivered by the USPS via tracking to you or your freight forwarder by the shipping provider. You should refuse any packages that arrive damaged and instruct your freight forwarder to do the same, any goods lost after being received by you or the freight forwarder will be your responsibility.

Taxes and Duties

Packages shipped from TCGplayer Sellers may be subject to the customs fees and import duties of the country to which your order ships. International buyers – please note: Import duties, taxes, and charges aren't included in the item price or postage cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be, prior to buying.

For more details on Customs expectations, please visit Internet Purchases | U.S. Customs and Border Protection (cbp.gov).

Shipping Fees

When you ship internationally through TCGplayer, keep in mind that international sales require additional calculation and planning beyond what we specify in our domestic shipping guidelines (consult your shipping provider for more details). Note that the shipping cost you display on your TCGplayer listing is the only cost a buyer will incur. (For example, you can’t contact buyers after the fact and ask them to make an additional payment for shipping.) The destination country may also charge customs fees once the package arrives.

  • Price Variance on Small Item Packages

While orders for small sized orders that include just a few items can be shipped at a relatively low cost, an order that contains a large number of items or high-value items can be more expensive to ship.

To offset this, we recommend that you balance your shipping settings to reflect the varied costs of shipping products internationally.

  • Shipping Cost Is Only Applied One Time Per Cart

When a buyer adds a small, medium or large item* to their cart, we apply your assigned shipping cost according to their purchase. This covers the entire shipping cost of the package, regardless of whether they buy additional items. The next item of that size or smaller they add to the same cart won’t increase the shipping cost since the shipping fee threshold has already been met for the transaction.

For example:

  • A buyer in Australia decides to purchase a Magic single from you. Since they're an international customer, we’ll automatically charge them the shipping cost you set when you opted in to selling internationally. Let's say you have this fee set at $8.99. If the item they ordered was $5.00, their total cost at this point will be $5.00 + $8.99 = $13.99 (item + shipping).
  • They then decide they want to purchase another single from you. This one is $12.00. When they add this card to their cart, only the $12.00 will be added to their previous $13.99 sum. In other words, your shipping fee is a flat rate for an entire package, not a fee associated with each item shipped. Their total at this point would be $5.00 + $12.00 + $8.99 = $25.99 (item 1 + item 2 + shipping fee).

For more details and information about exact shipping costs, please visit USPS.com or your shipping provider.
